MGA Boys At Bedford
BEDFORD, N.Y. (August 15, 2013) – The round of 16 at the MGA/MetLife Boys Championship has completed at the Bedford Golf & Tennis Club in Bedford, N.Y. Three matches needed extra holes before a winner would prevail, including Brent Ito of Ardsley, N.Y. who came back from a 4 hole deficit at the hands of Sam Goldenring of Florham Park, N.J. to move on to the second round.
Ryan Rodriguez of Highland Mills, N.Y. defeated Andrew Peter Bower of Summit, N.J. in a playoff as well. Neither player held a lead greater than one-hole, and after Bower birdied the 18th to force a playoff Rodriguez closed the match with a par on the first playoff hole. Aidan McDermott of Pleasantville, N.Y. and Jim Smoot Jr. came down to the wire as well. Like Bower, Smoot birdied the 18th hole after putting his approach shot to three feet but it was McDermott who was victorious on the first playoff hole.

(2 & 1 over Prescott Butler of Locust Valley, N.Y.), Christian Cavaliere of Kattonah (6 & 5 over Sean Copeland of New Paltz, N.Y.), John Driscoll III of Ridgewood, N.J.
