The Metropolitan Golf Association has been closely monitoring all information and updates regarding COVID-19 and the impact the situation has on the golf industry. Our focus remains on the health and safety of our community at large, and working together within government guidance to practice social responsibility. During this challenging time, the MGA urges our members to follow the guidelines from health and governmental officials to keep our communities safe and minimize the possible exposure to coronavirus.

MGA 2021 COVID Guidelines for Championships
STATE UPDATES:
New Jersey: *Update* - Governor Phil Murphy signed a new Executive Order (EO 153) (issued June 9) which removes golf related restrictions imposed in previous Executive Orders. Social distancing and sanitation guidelines remain in effect.
New York: The New York State Department of Health has updated "Interim Guidance for Sports and Recreation During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency" as of March 25, 2021. Golf is classified as one of the low-risk recreation activities as determined by Empire State Development (ESD).

Connecticut: Effective March 19, 2021 all COVID-related rules pertaining to golf in Connecticut fall into two categories: 1) the wearing of masks when social distancing can not be maintained, and 2) adherence to state guidelines that are specific to sectors such as restaurants, retail outlets and indoor/outdoor events. Back2Golf - WE ARE GOLF, a coalition of golf's leading organizations, has established "Back2Golf," a three-phased plan outlining operational guidelines to lead the responsible return of golf. These guidelines were established in partnership with: the USGA, PGA TOUR, PGA of America, LPGA, National Golf Course Owners Association, Club Managers Association of America, and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
