MGA Partners with ClubUp
The Metropolitan Golf Association, one of the nation’s oldest and largest amateur golf associations, is pleased to announce a new corporate partnership with ClubUp, the leading software and services company that works with golf clubs with caddie programs.
The North Carolina-based company provides innovative services to clubs, including offering streamlined communications and experience relevant to employment, insurance, payment and other key regulations. ClubUp will also work with the MGA Foundation and clubs to grow caddie programs.
“ClubUp’s expansion into this market will undoubtedly positively impact our member clubs and their caddie programs,” said MGA Executive Director Brian R. Mahoney. “The MGA has a long history of preserving and promoting the traditions and values of the game of golf, and our clubs and members reflect those principles. Our clubs are looking for solutions in the caddie software space and have turned to the MGA for guidance. Through extensive research and due diligence, we’ve determined ClubUp to be the clear choice. Not only do they have the best product in the marketplace, but their mission and philosophies align with those of the MGA and our constituents.”
Founded in 2016 by Matthew Rose, ClubUp has recently expanded into the Dallas and Scottsdale markets, and is a partner of Quail Hollow Club, home of the Wells Fargo Championship and 2017 PGA Championship. The company also has a national partnership with The First Tee. The ClubUp Board of Directors includes Mr. Rose, as well as important leaders and visionaries in golf, including Scott Mahoney, Seth Waugh and Ken Thompson.
“The MGA is one of the most respected organizations in golf and their goals align very well with ClubUp's mission of promoting caddying through the use of technology,” Rose said. “The ClubUp team is excited to partner with the MGA for many years to come.”
This partnership adds a new member service to the MGA’s offerings, as MGA member clubs will have access to ClubUp’s services. ClubUp works directly with club staff and caddie managers to identify methods to improve communications and operations, as well as a host of other customizable features.
The MGA will serve as a consultant to ClubUp to enhance and grow the product offering to clubs. This partnership will generate meaningful support for caddie initiatives, the MGA Foundation and various local Caddie Scholarship Funds.
