2017 Long Island Mixed Pinehurst Champions Ryan Hom and Patrice Franco hold the permanent Janet Henry trophy

Ryan Hom and Patrice Franco of the Nassau Players Club won the 2017 Long Island Mixed Pinehurst Championship on Tuesday, August 22nd at North Hills Country Club in Manhasset with a gross score of 3-under par 69. Yong Park of EWGA-Long Island and Tony Curcio of Oyster Bay GC finished second, 5 shots behind, and Cindi Gomez of Colonial Springs GC and Tim Rhodes of Huntington CC were third, 4 more shots back. In the Net  Competition, the first four teams were all from the Women's Cross County Golf Association: Marie and Chris Gibbons won with 9-under par net 63, Kathy Dennis and Matt Palace were second at 65, Maria and Carl Hall were third at 66 and Ruth and August Cassella won a match of cards for 4th at 69. In 5th place by match of cards were Joe and Samantha Arnold of Colonial Springs GC, also with 69. This event was run jointly by the LIGA and the WCCGA, the first collaboration between the two associations .
