Gerry Mackedon of Port Jefferson Country Club won the 2017 Michael Hebron Amateur Championship on the Black Course at Bethpage State Park on Tuesday, August 1 with a sparkling two-round total of one under par 141. Clancy Waugh of Deepdale Golf Club was second, one shot back, and there was a three way tie for third at 143, among Darin Goldstein of Noyac Golf Club, Jay Card III of Gardiners Bay Country Club and Michael Frizalone of the park.
