Yom Leads Final Ike Qualifiers from Richmond County

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (June 7, 2018) -- Qualifying concluded Thursday for 63rd Ike MGA Stroke Play Championship Presented by Callaway, as 19 players advanced from Richmond County Golf Course. Players advance to the championship proper, set for June 25-26 at Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, N.Y.

Saeyeon Yom of Edgewood led the field, firing a 2-under 70, while MGA eClub - Wch/Ct member Bobby Diforio, Jr. carded an even-par 70.

Adam Xao of Old Westbury shot 2-over 74 to advance to Meadow Brook, while Ross Lehrer of Engineers and Jesse Clemente of Silver Lake also easily advanced, posting matching 75s.

Tying sixth in the qualifying round were Jack Simon of Lake Mohawk, Sam Bernstein of Century and Met PGA Junior member Chris Lee, all carding 76s. Patrick Cooper and Erik Stevens rounded out the top-10 qualifiers, both posting 5-over 77.

The additional nine qualifiers carded scores of 8-over 80 or better to help round out the Ike's field.

Richmond County played to a par 72 and at 6,561 yards.
