A brand-new set of Rules for Handicapping was introduced globally in 2020, with the World Handicap System (WHS) bringing together six different handicap systems into a single set of Rules for Handicapping. The WHS enables golfers of different abilities to play and compete on a fair and equal basis, no matter how or where they play. In January 2024, the WHS experienced its first revisions.
