Joe and Louis Farrauto win 25th MGA Father & Son Net Championship
MT. SINAI, N.Y. (September 3, 2014) - Thirty two father and son teams competed today in the Father & Son Net Championship at Willow Creek Golf & Country Club in Mt. Sinai, N.Y.
Joe and Louis Farrauto of Shoreview and AGC Dyker Beach, respectively, were today’s winners after they posted a net score of 5-under par 66. The father and son duo played steady the entire day, and credited their success to their respective games complimenting each other.
Finishing in second and winning on a match of cards were Kenneth and Hans Frank of MGA eClub – Long Island and Forest Park, respectively, who fired a net score of 4-under par 67.
Brian and Wayne Mackey won the Pro Division for the second straight year after shooting a 5-over par 76. Brian is enjoying a successful week after winning yesterday’s NJPGA Pro-Assistant Championship. Brian is an assistant pro at White Beeches Golf and Country Club, where last year’s event was held.
Rounding out the top-5 were Schuyler and Robbie Winter of Country Club of Darien at 5-under par net 67, Lyle and Anthony Borman of Colonial Springs at 3-under par net 68, Phil and Pete Fabrizio of Knickerbocker and Forty-Niners Golf Club at 3-under par net 68, Daniel and Daniel Romanello of Gleneagles and MGA eClub Westchester/Fairfield at 2-under par net 69, and Michael and John Delpriore of Hollow Brook at 2-under par net 69.
Willow Creek played to a par 71 at 6,324 yards. (This event was re-rescheduled from 8/13 due to poor weather.)
