Semifinals Set at Glen Ridge
Reigning MGA/MetLife Boys' Championship winner Reed Greyserman
GLEN RIDGE, N.J. (August 13, 2020) -- Reed Greyserman of Short Hills, N.J., had a successful start to his title defense in the 52nd MGA/MetLife Boys' Championship with a pair of match play victories at Glen Ridge Country Club on Thursday. The semifinal round and championship match take place Friday.

Greyserman, aiming to become the first back-to-back winner since Nathan Han in 2015-16, defeated Lance Hollingshead of Basking Ridge, N.J., by a 4-and-3 margin in the morning before outlasting Cameron Besaw of New Canaan, Conn., 1-up in the afternoon. Besaw won Nos. 12-14 to tie the match, but the pair traded wins on the final three holes, with Greyserman taking Nos. 16 and 18 to stand as one of the final four competitors.
No. 4 seed Liam Pasternak of Morristown, N.J., earned an opening 3-and-2 win over Will Huntington of Southport, Conn., before taking a 2-and-1 victory over Elias Kennon of Old Greenwich, Conn., in the afternoon. Pasternak built his lead to 3-up through six holes and though Kennon trimmed it to one after taking the 12th hole, Pasternak closed strong for victory.
Harrison Browne of Westport, Conn., had a pair of impressive wins, defeating John Hiller of New York, N.Y., by a 6-and-4 margin and Andrew Stickel of Greenwich, Conn., 5-and-4, in the afternoon. He had hot starts in both cases, winning seven of the first eight holes in the opening match before winning the first four holes in the afternoon.
Alex Moller of New York, N.Y., rounds out those remaining, thanks to a 2-and-1 win over Andrew Chen of Whitestone, N.Y., in the morning and a 1-up victory over Barnes Blake of Westfield, N.J. in the afternoon. Blake had battled back with wins on Nos. 14, 15 and 17 to tie the match, but Moller won the last with par to advance to Friday's play.
Semifinal matches begin at 8:00 a.m. at Glen Ridge, with the championship contest taking place in the afternoon.
