MGA/MetLife Men's, Women's Four-Ball Qualifying

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (September 17, 2024) -- The MGA/MetLife Men's Four-Ball Championship was established in 1977 to give the average golfer a high-caliber tournament experience. After it’s success, the MGA/MetLife Women's Four-Ball launched in 1985. Both championships continue to stand among the MGA's most popular, with qualifying beginning at the club level, continuing with sectional qualifying and concluding with the championship proper. This year, three sectional qualifying rounds take place to see which Men’s teams advance to Westchester Hills Golf Club (Oct 21) and which Women’s teams advance to Salem Golf Club (Oct 15).

September 17, Cherry Valley Country Club, Skillman, N.J.
On a Sunny and calm day in Central New Jersey, Scott Ives & John Gulla of Ramsey G & CC topped the net leaderboard after finishing at 10-under par with a 62. The duo finished four shots clear of second place. The duo played consistently all day after playing the opening nine to net 4-under par, they would continue to play well recording two net eagles on their way to finish the back nine at net 6-under par. Qualifying in a solo second place is the duo of Eric Delin & Paul DeMario of Latourette GC. The pair recorded seven net birdies to just one net bogey to claim their spot. Topping the Gross side for the men was Todd Van Grouw & Michael Alexander of Darlington GC. The pair finished at 1-under par to top the division by one shot. Todd Van Grouw recorded four birdies on the back nine.

The ladies had a tie for the top net spot as both Laura Delin & Deborah Rusolo of Weekenders Women’s GC along with Natalie Hoszko & Jean McLaughlin of Dunwoodie GC at four-under par. The duo of Delin and Rusolo also claimed the top spot in the women’s Gross division.

September 25, Centennial Golf Club, Carmel, N.Y.
On a cold and windy day Ryan Reid and Nick Depalma of Osiris G & CC set the mark after shooting a net 10-under par for a 62. The duo recorded 8 birdies and an eagle as they separated themselves from the field. Finishing in a solo second place is the duo of Frederic Lou & Joseph Piscitelli of River Vale CC. The duo finished at net 7-under par after recording 5 birdies and 2 eagles in their round. Rounding out our podium of qualifiers is Jay Crowley & Morgan Gregory of Round Hill Club who finished at 6-under par.

On the Women’s side Veronic Vawter & Martha Johnson of Trump Natl GC Hudson Valley topped the net division after firing a net 6-under 66. The pair recorded six birdies and an eagle to finish six shots clear of second place.
