Grehan & Coughlin Win Mixed Pinehurst
REDDING, Conn. (July 26, 2022) - Tuesday's 58th MGA/WMGA Mixed Pinehurst Championship featured competitors from across the Met Area competing for the title at Redding Country Club. Megan Grehan and Ryan Coughlin of Hudson National Golf Club & Westchester Country Club, respectively, led the way after going out early in the morning and carding a round of 4-under 67. Jack and Jennifer Rosenberg of Glen Oaks Club finished runner-up, shooting 2-under 69.
Grehan and Coughlin, who recently won the WGA Amateur Championship, recorded six birdies on the day, with their two bogeys coming on par-3s.
Though falling short in the MGA Championship, the Rosenbergs captured the LIGA Mixed Pinehurst Championship, which was conducted concurrently alongwith the WGA Mixed Pinehurst Championship. Caraline & Michael Oakley of Southampton Golf Club finished second at 2-over par.
In the Net Division, four groups tied for the championship with a score of five-under 66. Winners included Bill Wallace and Decarlo Susan of Brooklawn, Elizabeth Barnes and Tyler Hale of Siwanoy, MGA eClub - Connecticut member Diane Scricca and Thomas Barbaro of Garden City Country Club, and Maureen Brennan and Peter Bell of Garden City Country Club.
MGA championship winners Grehan and Coughlin also claimed the WGA Mixed Pinehurst Championship title.
