Bensel Makes Back-to-Back Aces at U.S. Senior Open

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 28, 2024) - Century Country Club's Frank Bensel made history on Friday morning during the second round of the 44th U.S. Senior Open at Newport Country Club with back-to-back holes-in-one on holes Nos. 4 and 5.

The 2007 Met Open champion, two-time Westchester Open winner and longtime assistant professional at Century was playing with Keith Horne and amateur Scott Fawcett when he made history. Bensel earned his spot in the U.S. Senior Open in May at the MGA-conducted qualifier at Metropolis.

He's joined by a few other Met Area locals in the field: Mill River head professional Jason Caron, Essex Fells head professional Brian Gaffney, amateur Michael Brown of Maple Spring Township, N.J., and three-time Met Open winner Mark Brown all qualified for the championship. GlenArbor's Rob Labritz, a two-time Westchester Open champion, was exempt into the championship.
