2022 Schedule: USGA Qualifiers

The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, N.J., will host the 122nd U.S. Amateur Championship, using a composite course of its three nines for the championship routing: Nos. 1-7 of the East Nine, followed by Nos. 2-6 on the Center Nine and Nos. 4-9 on the West Nine.


ELMSFORD, N.Y. (February 15, 2022) -- Each year, USGA qualifiers stand as some of the most anticipated dates on the MGA's schedule as players aim to advance to national championships. Once again, 2022 is full of those opportunities with the MGA this season conducting 18 qualifying dates for USGA championships at some of the Met Area's top venues.

The excitement begins early in the season with local qualifying for the 122nd U.S. Open Championship, which this year heads to The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., June 16-19. The MGA will conduct local qualifying at five sites in May: Wee Burn Country Club (May 2) in Darien, Conn., Hollywood Golf Club (May 3) in Deal, N.J., Southampton Golf Club (May 9) in Southampton, N.Y., Knickerbocker Country Club (May 12) in Tenafly, N.J., and Manhattan Woods Golf Club (May 17) in West Nyack, N.Y.. Final qualifying for the U.S. Open then takes place June 6 at Old Oaks and Century Country Club in Purchase, N.Y., as the final stop on the road to The Country Club.

Seniors have the opportunity to qualify for the 42nd U.S. Senior Open Championship in May, with qualifying taking place May 16 at at Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, N.Y. The championship this year takes place at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa., June 23-26.

The middle of July brings on a pair of U.S. Junior Amateur Championship qualfiers, with those advancing from Rockaway Hunting Club (June 14) in Lawrence, N.Y., and Watchung Valley Golf Club (June 15) in Watchung, N.J., making their way to Bandon Dunes for the July 25-30 event. Qualifying for the 73rd U.S. Girls' Junior Amateur Championship will also take place at Watchung Valley on June 15, with qualifiers earning their spot at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky., for the July 18-23 event.

Qualifying for the U.S. Amateur Championship is extra special this year, as qualifiers get to compete in a national championship right here in the Met Area with Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, N.J., welcoming the championship's 122nd playing, August 15-21. Nearby Arcola Country Club will serve as the stroke-play co-host for the championship. The MGA will conduct four qualifiers for the 122nd U.S. Amateur, taking place at Westchester Hills Golf Club (July 11) in White Plains, N.Y., Tamarack Country Club (July 12) in Greenwich, Conn., Pine Hollow Country Club (July 13) in East Norwich, N.Y., and Essex Fells Country Club (July 18) in Essex Fells, N.J.

Back-to-back dates in July will see players advance to The Kittanset Club in Marion, Mass., for the 67th U.S. Senior Amateur Championship (Auguse 27 - September 1) and the 4th U.S. Senior Women's Open Championship at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio, August 25-28, with qualifiers taking place at Alpine Country Club (July 25) in Alpine, N.J., and Rye Golf Club (July 26) in Rye, N.Y.

The final MGA-conducted USGA qualifiers for the 2022 season will take place for the 41st U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, August 1 at Whippoorwill Club in Armonk, N.Y., and August 9 at Essex County Country Club in West Orange, N.J. Players earn their spot at Erin Hills in Erin Hills, Wisc., for the September 10-15 championship.
