Barnes medals at Rockleigh qualifier for MGA Public Links
ROCKLEIGH, N.J. (June 8, 2016) - A total of nine players qualified for the 69th MGA Public Links Championship at a Sectional Qualifying Round held at Rockleigh Golf Course in Rockleigh, N.J. The championship will be held on July 7 at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, N.Y.
On a stormy morning, Gray Barnes of Centennial braved the elements to shoot 2-under 69 and earn medalist honors. Barnes' blistering six birdies on the first twelve holes gave him an early advantage that he would hold onto for the remainder of the day.

Kevin Guidera of MGA Eclub - New Jersey also got off to a quick start, birdieing four of the first eleven holes en route to an even-par 71.
At 1-over 72, Brian Hale of MGA Eclub - New Jersey and Jim Hamburger of McCann Golf Course safely advance to Spook Rock.
William Canon of Plainfield C.C. - West Nine posted a 3-over 74 to also secure a tee time in next month's championship.
At 4-over 75, rounding out the list of qualifiers were Kj Kim of Darlington, Devin Solar of MGA Eclub - Hudson Valley, Ryan Vincent Flynn of MGA Eclub - Hudson Valley, and Thomas Busacco of MGA Eclub - New York City.
Rockleigh played to a par 71 at 6,698 yards.
An additional qualifier also took place at Marine Park Golf Course in Brooklyn, N.Y., today. The final qualifying round for the MGA Public Links Championship will be played on June 7 at Bethpage State Park Golf Course (Blue).
