Miller, Giuliani at Second Stage of European Tour Qualifying School
UPDATE (November 9, 2015) - The second stage of European Tour Qualifying School came to a close on Monday. Neither Mike Miller nor Andrew Giuliani advanced to the final stage, though Giuliani could end up competing in the finals as he earned a position as an alternate. Four sites hosted the second stage, with the top 18 from each location advancing to the last stop in the quest for European Tour membership.
Giuliani narrowly missed punching his surefire ticket to the finals, ending the four-day event tied for 20th at 5-under-par 279. However, the 2006 MGA Player of the Year endured a six-hole playoff to become an alternate at the final stage. After opening the tournament with rounds of 72 and 74, Giuliani registered the best score in the field over the final 36 holes at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club with rounds of 67 and 66, leading him up the leaderboard and eventually to the playoff. Final Stage will take place November 14-19 at PGA Catalunya Resort in Girona, Spain.
Miller entered his final round at Campo de Golf El Saler at even-par, looking to build on his 2-under 70 from the third round. However, a 75 dropped Miller to a 3-over total and into a tie for 38th. Miller now turns his focus to Web.com Tour Q-School. He is scheduled to play in stage two at Plantation Preserve in Plantation, Fla., November 17-20.
