Bayonne Hosts Met Open Qualifier
BAYONNE, N.J. (July 20, 2015) – Amateur Sam Bernstein of Century took home medalist honors from Bayonne Golf Club in today’s Sectional Qualifying Round for the 100th Met Open Championship.

Bernstein fired the only under-par score of the day with a 1-under 70 to earn a trip to the Met Open this August at Winged Foot Golf Club. The 2015 Arcola Cup winner finished in the top 10 at the Met Open in 2013 at Old Westbury.
Daniel Eidman, an amateur from Rockland CC, carded an even par 71 on Bayonne’s challenging course to qualify.
Patrick Pierson (a) of Minisceongo finished at 1-over to play in the championship.
Four players carded matching scores of 2-over 73: Ryan Kalista of Tamarack, Jason Cramer of Copper Hill, Chris Meinke (a) of Longshore and Chris O’Keefe (a) of Bethpage.
Chris Mazzuchetti of Bayonne and Jason Zubatkin (a) of Tamarack claimed the remaining qualifying positions (8 plus ties) with scores of 3-over 74.
Bayonne played to a par 71 at 6,757 yards for today’s starting field of 84 players.
The 100th playing of the Met Open Championship is on August 25-27 at Winged Foot Golf Club’s East Course in Mamaroneck, N.Y.
