100th Met Open Championship
This August marks the 100th playing of the Met Open, the country's third oldest Open Championship. It will be played at Winged Foot for an MGA record seventh time, the last coming in 2002 when now three-time PGA TOUR winner Johnson Wagner claimed victory on the club's West Course. This year, for the first time it will be contested on the historic club's East Course. Here on mgagolf.org, in The Met Golfer and Met Extra, we will be celebrating this historic Championship with fun facts, numbers, photos, and much more leading all the way up to the big 100. Below you will find what has been covered so far, and continue to check back to see what else we can dig up in our Met Open history.
