Ed and Ken Dorian Win MGA Father and Son Net Tournament
ARMONK, N.Y. (August 10, 2015) – The MGA held the 26th MGA Father and Son Net Tournament at Brynwood Golf & Country Club in Armonk, N.Y., on Monday, August 10.
Ed and Ken Dorian of Westchester Country Club won the tournament with a net score of 6-under 64. The Dorian duo had the lowest net score of the 46 father and son teams.
The team of Gene and Eugene Melody of MGA eClub-New Jersey finished in second with a net score of 4-under 66, and Karl and Justin Leopold of Crab Meadow were third with a net sore of 2-under 68.
Michael and John Del Priore of Hollow Brook Golf Club won the low gross prize after carding a score of 2-over 72.
Chris and Sean Callahan of Village Club at Sand Points, who finished in a tie for 10th in last years event, placed a tie for fifth alongside Chip and Paul Steppacher of Country Club of New Canaan, and Warren Richmond III and IV of Nissequogue Golf Club with a net score of 1-under 69.
Last year’s winners, Joe and Louis Farrauto of Shoreview and AGC Dyker Beach shot an even-par net 70, finishing in a tie for eighth. Dominic and Mark Schiavone of Architects Golf Club, and Chris and Scott Filor of Patriot Hills Golf Club, tied with the Farrauto’s with an even-par net 70.
Brynwood’s course played to a 6,079-yard par-70. The MGA’s other family duo event, the 65th Father and Son Championship, will be played next week on August 17 at Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, N.Y.
