ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 21, 2014) - The final round of stage two qualifying for the Web.com Tour will end today and a few locals may be heading to the final stage at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Dec. 11-16. Already gearing up and on their way to the finals are 2014 MGA Player of the Year David Pastore of Griff Harris and 2009 MGA Player of the Year Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven.

Leading the way this week and on the verge of qualifying for the final stage are Marc Turnesa of Rockville Centre, N.Y. and 2010 Met Amateur Champion Evan Beirne of New Haven. Both players are through three rounds at Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club in Plantation, Fla. and they have each put themselves in good position to grab one of the 18 available qualifying spots (plus ties). Turnesa stands at 3-under and tied for 9th after firing rounds of 68, 73, and 69, while Beirne is tied for 14th at 2-under thanks to rounds of 71, 70, and 70.

Two other locals who have a chance, but have a lot of work to do on the final day are two-time MGA Player of the Year Mike Miller of Knollwood and 2007 LIGA Open Champion Abbie Valentine of Bethpage. Miller, who is also playing at Plantation, is tied for 32nd at 1-over after rounds of 74, 70, and 70. Heading into the third round 19 players are at 2-under or better, leaving Miller to have to at least go a few under par to have a shot at the final stage. Valentine finds himself in a simialr situation at 2-over par and tied for 27th. He has carded rounds of 75, 73, and 70 at Bear Creek Golf Club in Murrieta, Ca., where there is also 18 qualifying positions plus ties. Valentine is a shot behind nine players who are tied for 18th at 1-over.

Max Buckley of Westchester and Danny Balin of Burning Tree are each outside the top 50 at Hombre Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Fla.
