Esposito In Second at Champions Tour Q-School

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 20, 2014) - After two rounds of play at the Champions Tour Q-School Tournament it is the red-hot Frank Esposito of Brooklake who is in great position to solidify himself a spot on the Champions Tour in 2015. The top five finishers at this week's tournament are exempt on the Champions Tour next season and Esposito currently sits in second place after two rounds. He is coming off a victory at the Senior PGA Professional National Championship last week and hasn't missed a beat since, carding a 71 and a 68 for a 36-hole total of 5-under 139 so far at Q-School. The event is taking place this week at Panther Lake Golf Course in Winter Garden, Fla.

If Esposito were to fall back, he would still have a good chance at finishing in the 6th to 12th place range, which earns you a conditional exemption on the Champions Tour in 2015. The top 30 finishers and ties will be eligible to compete for spots in open qualifiers at all co-sponsored events on the Champions Tour in 2015.

Another local in the mix and giving himself good chance at the top 30 and maybe even the top 15 range through two rounds is Craig Thomas of Metropolis. Thomas fired a 71 in the first round and followed it up with a 74, leaving him at 1-over and tied for 15th after 36 holes. Also in the field is Charles Bolling of Glen Cove, N.Y., who sits at tied for 25th at 3-over through two rounds. Jim McGovern of White Beeches is tied for 55th.
