First Round Complete at Web.com Q-School Finals
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 11, 2014) - The first round of play is complete at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. in the Web.com Q-School Finals and while none of the three locals in the field went under par, they still have five rounds to make up ground. The leading man was Marc Turnesa of Rockville Centre, N.Y., who carded an even par 72 on the Fazio Course. Turnesa's round featured five birdies, but five bogeys kept him from a solid under par round and have him tied for 51st after the first day.
MGA Player of the Year David Pastore of Griff Harris and 2009 MGA Player of the Year Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven took to the Champions Course for their first round and carded matching 3-over 74s. Wilson had three birdies and just two bogeys on the day, but two double bogeys cost him what could have been a steady opening round. Pastore finished with three bogeys and 15 pars. Both players are tied for 104th.
Tomorrow it will be Turnesa taking on the Champions Course at 10:12 a.m., while Wilson and Pastore head to the Fazio Course for their second rounds. Wilson will be off the first tee at 8:33 a.m. and Pastore at 9:50 a.m.
