Sherry Herman Advances in USGA Senior Women's Amateur
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (September 24, 2013) - Sherry Herman of Holmdel, N.J. is looking to win her second USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship this week at Coredevalle in San Martin, Calif. Herman first won in 2009 at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Va.

The 55-year-old is off to a hot start at Cordevalle, finishing T-5th after two rounds of stroke play qualifying with a score of 7-over 151 to easily qualify for the match play portion of the championship. After winning her first match 2 up, Herman moves on to the Round of 32 where she will take on Joan Higgins of Glendora, Calif. on Tuesday.
Also on the list of Herman's golf achievements is a quarterfinalist finish at the 2010 Senior Women's Amateur. She has competed in multiple U.S. Women's Mid-Amateurs, advancing as far as the semifinals in 2001 and 1994.
