Miller Leads Locals During U.S. Am Qualifying
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 14, 2013) - Two-time reigning MGA Player of the Year Mike Miller of Brewster, N.Y., led all 14 Met Area locals in U.S. Amateur stroke play qualifying at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. The 21-year-old was one of only three players (out of 312) to fire two under par rounds (69-69). He finished tied for sixth place.

Also making match play is 2010 U.S. Junior champion Jim Liu of Smithtown, N.Y. Liu finished T27 after rounds of 72 and 70. Steve Zychowski of Mendham, N.J., also qualified for match play when he shot rounds of 70 and 73 to finish T38.
