Are You Getting the Most From Your MGA Membership?

MGA membership is your ticket to golf in the Met Area

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (March 17, 2010) – Did you know that you are one of over 125,000 members of the MGA in the Metropolitan area?  Do you know exactly what that membership entitles you to? Many members of the MGA will tell you that your membership provides you with a handicap. While this is true, and the MGA does provide each of its members with a GHIN number and in turn, they receive a Handicap Index from posting scores, handicaps are only a part of the larger puzzle that makes up your MGA membership.

As an MGA member, you are also entitled to receive The Met Golfer magazine, free of charge and delivered straight to your mailbox. You also have the choice to opt in for the MGA’s e-Revision Newsletter, which is a bi-weekly email updating you of your current Handicap Index, golf news in the Met Area, your score posting history, as well as special offers available only to MGA members. MGA members also have access to some of the oldest and most prestigious golf championships in the country. And if you don’t meet the criteria to qualify for one of the 17 MGA championships, MGA members have the ability to sign up for MGA Play Days. Play Days are one-day events held at some of the top courses in the Met Area where MGA members of all abilities are able to tee it up with fellow Met Area golf enthusiasts. As a member, you are also able to sign up and attend MGA Foundation Educational seminars. From handicapping to rules, these educational forums are a great way for members to learn more about the game we all love.

As a member of the MGA, your participation also helps grow the game of golf here in the Met Area. Throughout the year, the MGA Foundation puts on numerous clinics and events that would not be possible if it weren’t for you, the MGA member.

If you are not currently receiving an e-Revision Newsletter, click here to sign up for the email list.
