LPGA’S PAULA CREAMER HELPS FIRST TEE LAUNCH IN BRIDGEPORT

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. (May 22, 2006)–LPGA star Paula Creamer joined Charlie Carroll, Chief of Staff for Bridgeport Mayor John Febrizi; Joseph Hoffman, president and CEO of Royal Bank of Scotland in Bridgeport; Sonya Mendez, 2005 RBS Achiever of the Year and officials from the MGA Foundation, Metropolitan PGA and First Tee of Connecticut at a celebratory event at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Bridgeport. The reason for the event was the launch of a new 15-year agreement between The First Tee of Metropolitan New York, The First Tee of Connecticut and the City of Bridgeport to conduct junior golf and life skills programming at Fairchild Wheeler and throughout Fairfield County.

With the addition of Fairchild Wheeler, The First Tee of Metropolitan New York now has four junior golf learning centers in the Met Area, at Mosholu Golf Course in the Bronx, Eisenhower Park on Long Island and Weequahic Park in Newark, New Jersey.

After the ribbon cutting ceremony, 2005 LPGA Tour rookie of the year Paula Creamer, who finished t-6th in this year’s Sybase Classic at Wykagyl Country Club, held a clinic for 50 First Tee students. She dazzled the crowd with an impressive shotmaking demonstration and spoke earnestly about Life Skills and Core Values, which are learned during First Tee programming.
