Tour Update
Elmsford, N.Y. (April 22, 2005) - With the exception of young Katie Allison, all of the Met Area professionals were in action last week.
On the Nationwide Tour, Johnson Wagner of Garrison, NJ, Jim McGovern of Hackensack, NJ and Chris Nallen of Hackettstown, NJ all competed at the Virginia Beach Open in Virginia Beach, VA. Chris Nallen (left) shot a four under 68 in the opening round for a share of second place but faltered in his later rounds ending in a tie for 26th place. Jim McGovern posted rounds of 72-70-68-73 and wound up in a tie for 13th place at 5 under par. Wagner, who opened with a strong 69, also struggled during his second round and missed the cut. The PGA Tour stopped at the Redstone Golf Club in Humble, TX to play the Shell Houston Open. J.J. Henry, formerly of Patterson Club in Fairfield, CT, made the cut and shot 5 over par on his way to a tie for 69th. Matt Davidson of West Windsor, NJ, missed the cut. .
Jim Albus, former two time Met Open champion, played in the Champions Tour Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf at The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort and Spa in Savannah, GA and tied for 41st.
