GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J.-Nick Desai of Hominy Hill, in Colts Neck, NJ lost one down on the final hole of the third round of match play at the 2003 U.S. Public Links Championship at Blue Heron Pines GC, in Galloway Township, NJ.   Desai was defeated by Dayton Rose, of Stillwater, OK, in the round of sixteen.  He advanced to the third round with a 2 & 1 victory over Lenny Park, from Tempe, AZ and advanced to the second round with a 2 & 1 victory over John Ellis, from San Jose, CA.  Desai earned one of the last spots in the two-round on-site qualifying with his 151 (75 – 76), which tied him for 53rd.
