The MGA regrets to announce the passing of Martin S. “Marty” Rakowitz in Palm Springs, Calif. A longtime member of Mountain Ridge Country Club, Mr. Rakowitz was an MGA volunteer for nearly 40 years. He was a board member and Green Chair at Mountain Ridge and served on the MGA Executive Committee. He headed the MGA Green Committee and was instrumental in starting the Association’s Green Chairman Educational Series, a highly successful annual seminar program that continues to stand among the MGA’s most important Member Service Programs. He will be missed by his many friends in golf and our thoughts are with his wife Annette and family.
