GLADSTONE, N.J. (June 24, 2025) – Reed Greyserman of Hamilton Farm defended his home turf in a playoff, edging Mike Rothberg of Mill River and MGA/USGA GC member Nathan Han to capture the 70th Ike MGA Stroke Play Championship. The three were forced to a three-hole aggregate playoff after all finished at 9-under 207, with Han firing a 7-under 65 in the final round, Rothberg a 6-under 66, and Greyserman 4-under 68.

Playing the par-3 seventh, par-4 eighth, and par-5 ninth, Greyserman made a routine par, then back-to-back birdies to edge his competitors. Rothberg began with bogey, but bounced back with birdie and had an eagle look to force sudden death, but his bid slipped low.
Greyserman is the first player to win the Ike at his home club since Greg Rohlf did so in 1998 at Wykagyl.
The 70th playing of the Ike marks the 40th edition conducted by the MGA, with the championship’s roots dating back to 1953 and its founding by Daily News sportswriter Dana Mozley. While immensely popular in its earliest days, the championship suffered in the late 70s and 80s with no sponsor. The MGA acquired its rights and relaunched the championship in 1986 at The Tuxedo Club. The championship regained its stature and has since been the region’s top amateur stroke-play event.
The last decade has produced plenty of thrilling finishes, from Peicheng Chen’s spectacular 5-under 65 final round at Nassau last year and Melan Dhaubhadel’s playoff win in 2023 at Brooklawn to Mark Costanza’s eagle chip-in victory at Country Club of Darien in 2020 and Cameron Young’s back-to-back victories in 2015-16. Hamilton Farm now gets to usher in the next chapter of Ike history.
