It was an adventurous morning for Miller, who began with consecutive bogeys on Nos. 10-11. However, he quickly moved under-par thanks to a birdie on the par-5 12th and a hole-out eagle from approximately 120 yards on the par-4 14th. However, his first miscue on a par-5 for the week came on the 17th, where he made bogey. A double-bogey six on the second hole trimmed his lead to just one over several players. However, Miller rallied back, making birdies on Nos. 3, 5, 6, and 9 while also converting an eagle on the par-5 seventh en route to a 3-under 68.
He moved to 9-under for the championship, with four competitors sitting six shots back at 3-under par overall.
Amateur Dylan Gallagher of Rockland turned in the low round of the morning, shooting 4-under 67 to jump up the leaderboard and enter the final round tied for second alongside David Schuster of Sleepy Hollow, host club professional Greg Bisconti, and amateur Christian Cavaliere of Hudson National, who made three birdies in his final four holes. Amateurs Chris Calabro of Knollwood and Elias Kennon of Golf Performance Center turned in two more of the lower rounds in the morning with 3-under 68s, respectively.
The final round of the championship is underway. Miller and Bisconti will play together once again, teeing off at 3:20 p.m., in the final pairing off the first hole.
