Strong Finish Leads Rosenberg to LI Women's Amateur Stroke Play Title

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (August 13, 2019) -- Jennifer Rosenberg of Glen Oaks Club won the 2019 Long Island Women's Amateur Stroke Play Championship on Tuesday, compiling a 36-hole score of 6-under 138 on the Blue Course at Bethpage State Park over the two days of competition.

MGA eClub - Long Island member Danielle Bambola finished second five shots back, while Malini Rudra of Muttontown Club placed third, another five shots behind. Rosenberg and Bambola tood tied at 2-under par after Monday's initial 18 holes, and they both played the very difficult front nine of the Blue Course in 1-under par for their second round. However, Rosenberg found cruising gear on the back nine with four birdies and won going away.

In the First Flight, both Yang Chun of Bethpage State Park Golf Club and Sun Lee of the Fairway Women of Bethpage shot 170, with Chun taking the match of cards to win the flight. In the Second Flight, Maggie McAuliffe of Crab Meadow Women's Club shot 192 to win the flight.
