ELMSFORD, N.Y. (March 31, 2026) – Reigning MGA Women’s Player of the Year Megha Ganne will make her sixth career start in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur this week, with the championship taking place April 1-4 at Champions Retreat Golf Club and Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
Ganne, a senior at Stanford University, has advanced to the final round in each of the past three years. She finished tied for ninth in 2023 and tied for seventh last year after starting the championship with a remarkable 9-under 63 at Champions Retreat. The bogey-free round stands as the lowest 18-hole score ever recorded in any round of the event.
“I think it’s the most exciting week in amateur golf, men’s or women’s, period, in my opinion,” said Ganne of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur after her record round last year.
The Holmdel, N.J., native is currently ranked No. 6 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, with 48 of the top 50 women scheduled to make the start this week in Georgia. After winning the U.S. Women’s Amateur last summer, Ganne has continued her stellar play during her senior campaign, winning the Stanford Intercollegiate and earning ACC Golfer of the Month honors in October. She’s had a 70.08 scoring average over her 12 rounds this season. Ganne certainly stands as one of the top contenders this week, already owning plenty of history in Augusta between her round of 63 last year and having been a four-time Drive, Chip and Putt National Finalist.
Ganne will play Wednesday and Thursday’s opening rounds alongside Soomin Oh of Korea and Rianne Malixi of Philippines, teeing off at 9:55 a.m., and 8:12 a.m. (10th hole), respectively.
Following the opening two rounds at Champions Retreat (Island and Bluff nines), a cut will be made to the low 30 players and ties. The entire field will play Augusta National for an official practice round on Friday, April 3. The final round then takes place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 4.
The first and second rounds of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur will be broadcast live on Golf Channel (1:30-3:30 p.m. ET) from Champions Retreat Golf Club. NBC Sports will produce and broadcast three hours (Noon-3 p.m. ET) of live final-round coverage of the event at Augusta National.
