MINEOLA, N.Y (May 15, 2023) — The 99th Long Island Open Championship Presented by Stifel this year heads to Huntington Crescent Club in Huntington, N.Y., June 6-8. While the field is already strong with exempt players, remaining spots are up for grabs in a pair of qualifiers several weeks prior to the championship.

May 15 – Indian Hills Golf Club, Northport, N.Y.
Amateur Patrick Healy of Huntington Country Club carded a 2-under 70 at Indian Hills to earn medalist honors and lead 35 qualifiers to the championship proper. Healy had five birdies on the day en route to his 70. John Hakizimana of Maidstone, Nick DeFalco of Piping Rock, Mark Anguiano of Golf v.2, and Donnie Shin of NYCC added rounds of 1-under 71 to round out those under-par. Overall, nine amateurs qualified on the day.

May 18 – Bethpage State Park (Red), Farmingdale, N.Y.
Kyle Brey of Bethpage led the group of 40 qualifiers on Bethpage’s Red Course with a 5-under 65 to earn medalist honors. Brey’s round included five birdies and an eaglie to offset a couple of bogeys on the card. Amateur Samuel Glogower of Seawane carded a 4-under 66 while former Long Island Amateur champion Carter Prince of Huntington Crescent had a 3-under 67 and will look to use his home-course advantage at the championship. Tyler Fieser of Meadow Brook and Erik Easton of The Bridge both carded scores of 1-under 69.
