Trio moves on to U.S. Senior Women's Open

CALDWELL, N.J. (July 8, 2024)Cheryl Anderson of Heathrow, Florida, Alicia Dibos of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Kathleen Ricci of Howell, New Jersey each carded a 4-over par to secure their spots at the U.S. Senior Women's Open Championship taking place at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania.

Throughout the round, Anderson stayed steady with her birdies and relied on pars to complete her impressive performance, earning her a well-deserved position on the podium. Her consistency and precision in navigating the tricky terrain were key to achieving her score. Anderson’s unwavering focus allowed her to handle the challenging course conditions effectively, showcasing her resilience and skill.

She says, “The course was playable, but the weather conditions made it a difficult day for everyone so I am happy to have the opportunity to return to the USGA Women's Senior Womens Open Championship.”

Dibos propelled her round with a birdie on the second hole, setting a positive tone early on. Despite facing some difficulties, she collected bogeys strategically, which carried her through the competition. Dibos’s ability to maintain composure and recover from setbacks demonstrated her experience and determination, ultimately securing her advancement to the championship.

Ricci’s round was marked by an impressive opening nine, where she posted a 36, setting a strong foundation for her day. Her remarkable start provided her with the momentum needed to navigate the remainder of the course successfully. Ricci’s consistent play and strategic approach allowed her to handle the pressure and emerge victorious in securing her spot at the championship.

Michelle Dobek emerged triumphant from a fierce playoff battle, securing the second alternate position with a composed par on the final hole. Her clutch performance under pressure earned her the coveted spot.
