Grace Lu captures 26th Women's Public Links Championship

Farmingdale N.Y. (June 11, 2024) Grace Lu of the MGA eClub in New Jersey captured the title at the 26th MGA/WMGA Women’s Public Links Championship, held at Bethpage State Park's Yellow Course.

Lu delivered a stellar performance, finishing with a 2-under 69 for the day, securing a dominant five-shot victory over WMGA member Ava Lozito and a seven-shot lead over the defending champion, MerriLyn Gibbs. Starting on the front nine, Lu carded a 1-under 34, highlighted by two birdies. Her momentum continued to the back nine, where she continued her strong play with two more birdies, finishing with a 1-under 35, which included four birdies and twelve pars.

Reflecting on her triumph, Lu expressed surprise and satisfaction with her performance, saying, "This is my first tournament in a long time, so coming here today without any expectations and playing how I did feels pretty good." Her win at Bethpage marks a significant milestone as she looks forward to participating in more tournaments and building on this success throughout the season.
Donna Strong tied with Grace Lu for the net portion of the event with a 2-under 69 net score.
