The World Handicap SystemTM (WHS) was introduced in 2020, bringing together six different handicap systems into a single set of Rules for Handicapping. As part of an ongoing review of the Rules of HandicappingTM and Course Rating SystemTM with a continued emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and equity, the first update and revisions for the WHS went into into effect in the United States on January 16, 2024.
