As part of the continued mission to grow the game of golf, the MGA Foundation is celebrating the opportunities provided for juniors with a Youth on Course Membership . YOC member Matthew DiFiore recently shared his experience as a YOC member and what he’s learned from the game of golf with the MGAF.
Matthew has been a Youth on Course member for three years now, first getting his membership back in 2018. Matthew said he has always been a golfer and golf fan and he found out about Youth on Course through a golf pro at Bethpage State Park. Matthew says his favorite part about being a Youth on Course member is the affordable prices for rounds of golf. He likes to golf all the courses at Bethpage and with a YOC membership can do so for as low as $5 per round. Matthew also says that he would highly recommend the membership to any of his friends or golfers his age because of how affordable rounds are.
Golf has taught Matthew many lessons, but he says the two things that the game has taught him the most are honesty and integrity. Youth on Course and golf in general have also helped Matthew gain incredible experiences on the course. He says his favorite golf memory is representing Team Bethpage at the PGA Jr. League National Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Matthew is just one of the YOC Members in the Met Area with access to discounted rounds at more than 30 facilities and a number of other member benefits. Learn more about a Youth on Course Membership, available to junior golfers ages 6-18.
