Yorizzos claim Father and Son Net Tournament
COLD SPRING HARBOR, N.Y. (July 31, 2017) – Play was extremely competitive at the 28th MGA Father and Son Net Tournament at Cold Spring Country Club on Monday, as a match of cards was required in order to determine a champion. Four teams found themselves atop the leaderboard following play, each carding net scores of 3-under 68. In the end, Jack Yorizzo and Alexander Yorizzo of Leewood were crowned champions based on their back nine scores.

The duo got off to a hot start by tallying three net birdies within the opening five holes. The final two holes on the outward nine proved difficult for the team as consecutive bogeys led to an even par scoreat the halfway point. The Yorizzos then bounced back strong on the inward nine thanks to an eagle and three birdies, including a decisive one on the final hole, to finish the day with a round of 3-under 68.
The team of Mike Mormino of Bethpage and Peter Mormino of Garden City Country Club were awarded2nd low net. Rounding out the top three finishers were Brendan Cullinan and Anthony Cullinan of Leewood.
Leading the way in gross finishers were Paul Adimando and Vincent Adimando of Plandome with a total of 3-over 74.
Cold Spring played to a par-71 at 6,261 yards for a field of 40 teams.
