LARCHMONT, N.Y. (May 20, 2013)– Scott Mackesy of Winged Foot put together an impressive round of 2-under 69 to win medalist honors at the Ike Sectional Qualifier at Bonnie Briar Country Club in Larchmont, N.Y. on Monday, May 20. Eighteen out of a total of 132 players made the cut of 6-over 77 and will move on to the Ike Championship at Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, N.Y., on June 24 and 25.

Conditions proved tougher as the day went on as the four leading scorers all came from the morning wave. Matthew Fields of MGA E-club NYC finished second on the day, four shots behind Mackesy with a 2-over 73. Chris Connolly of Scarsdale and Dan O’Callaghan of Bedford, tied for fourth with a 3-over 74s.

Matt Minerva of Knollwood and Blake Schulman of Old Oaks both shot 75s to tie for fifth.

Chuck Del Priore of Wykagyl, who finished as the Ike Team Champion in 1998 alongside winner Greg Rohlf, shot a 77 to get in the final field at his home course.

Rounding out the players who advanced include James Roth of Rockaway (76), Christian Flowers of Higgins (76), Crispin Love Jr. of Wee Burn (77), Danny Guise of MGA eClub – Conn., (77), John Herbert of Bethpage (77), Geoff Schneider of Rolling Hills (77), Tore Carlson of Bedford (77), Matthew Herr of McCann (77), Jon Collins Sr. of Winged Foot (77), Karl Anderson of Stanwich (77), and Timothy Connors III of Westchester (77).
